Pastor Kenneth Jetto, conducting services. According to church historian Mark Anderson, Pastor Jetto is an excellent liturgist. As well as his fine voice, he has an intuitive as well as a schooled grasp of liturgy.

The "liberal" Lutheran Church in America (LCA), of which the especially "liberal" Metropolitan New York Synod (MNYS) was a part (with Christ's Lutheran Church of Woodstock a part of it), joined with two other, more conservative synods--the American Lutheran Church (ALC) and the even more conservative American Evangelical Lutheran Church (AELC, a dissident faction from the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod)--to become the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Our congregation did not become more conservative as a result of the merger.
