Christ's Lutheran Church in 2003

The congregation began participating in the "Renewing Worship" studies in preparation for a new hymnal, trying (and commenting on) as choir and congregation some of the proposed new hymns.

Tobias Anderson organized a concert at the church of his popular style of sacred music; joining him were choir members Virginia Barthel, David Anderson (Tobias's brother), and Mark Anderson (Tobias's father). The concert was well received, and the group continued to sing together. And Tobias continued to write new songs.

Victoria Langling, as co-founder and general director, continued to administer the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, in partnership with area restaurants and with all the local Christian churches, the Jewish congregation, and the Onteora Teachers Association. According to Langling,

We have learned that there are many who are hungry and come to our church soup kitchen, but we have also learned that many are there for the companionship that comes from sharing a community table. The shed was repainted (click either picture to enlarge it), a new sink and hot water heater were installed in the Fellowship Hall kitchen, and a room divider was installed in the first-floor meeting room.

The Metropolitan New York Synod (MNYS) established a permanent endowment for Christian education in Tanzania, with a goal for complete funding in 5 years.
